What are our plans for the next year?
Each year, Healthwatch Wigan and Leigh publish our workplan for the up and coming year. This plan consists of our 2 projects for the year, our general goals and outlines out statutory functions (Think the things we have to do!).
As your local health and social care champions, we want you to know what we’re up to!
This year we’re focusing on 2 projects about healthcare services. Homecare and Pharmacy First. We’re collecting what you, the people, think about these services so we can share our results with stakeholder’s across the Boroughs health services so they can make them work for you!
Key Priorities
- Raising the profile of HWWL
- Making HWWL accessible and visible
- Investors in Volunteers
- Build knowledge and capacity within the HWWL team to support the information and signposting element of the services
- Implementing HWE Quality Framework
- Promoting the NHS Complaints Advocacy Service
Our Statutory Functions
- Promote and support the involvement of local people in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of local care services
- Enabling local people to monitor the standard of provision of local care services
- Obtaining the views of local people regarding their needs for, and experiences of, local care services
- Making reports and recommendations about how local care services could be improved
- Providing advice and information about local health and care services
