Healthwatch Takes It's Youngest Volunteers Yet!
Our finest little new volunteers had an amazing first day at Healthwatch. Spending their days watching TV, sleeping and spending time with their father, they told us coming to Healthwatch had completely changed their lives. Our casual atmosphere, our cheery vibes and our commitment to the common good is something anyone could dedicate themselves too. Athena, at 1 years old and Ava at 4, couldn't get enough of us. The experience on their CVs? Invaluable. The sense of satisfaction from helping people? Pure joy. The friends they've made along the way? Life long. Here at Healthwatch we really endeavor to do our best by people, whether over the phone or in the community - and our little helpers achieved this perfectly. They chowed down on some sugar free (We're responsible, we promise) lollipops for some taste testing, they drew some pictures for our wall to cheer us up, then they did some office-wide moral support with wide smiles and a loose grasp of the English language.
Getting to the end of the day, the kids chilled out and recounted us on their experiences and thoughts of the day. Due to our flexible hours, they got a break whilst waiting for their elderly middle aged father, Lee, to finish up. All was positive, outside of the lack of a beanie bag chair, which don't worry, we're planning on fixing. If these kids can volunteer with us, why can't you? All travel is reimbursed, all days are fun and you get to help make peoples lives better throughout your day. Volunteer with us, make a difference. The average day at Healthwatch won't look the same for you as it did for Ava and Athena - actually, it'd be more fun. If you're a dedicated individual with a drive to help others and a willingness to take on new challenges, you're perfect for us.
